My grandparents provided me with my first camera when I was about 10 years old. From there I found that I really enjoyed taking pictures and I was always interested in taking pictures of the out doors. Something I’m sure I picked up from my dad, who always was taking pictures of everything around us whenever we would go on hiking trips. However, until some what recently, I didn’t think it of being an actual hobby (or even more?).
In the spring of 2010 I had my house broken into and my digital camera was taken. I had already been thinking about possibly upgrading to a DSLR camera. So, this seemed to be a sign. With the help from my friend David, I picked up a Canon Rebel XS. After seeing my first pictures from my new camera, photography truly became hobby for me.
The next logical step was to actually post my pictures some where. I already had started this blog to possibly talk about my other hobby – World of Warcraft. So, I made an addition of posting my pictures. However, I have found that I am not a daily poster. Both my hobby of photography and WoW are a casual hobby for me. I hope to build myself up to at least posting weekly. At this point, I believe that is a good goal.
Along with my hobbies, I have a husband and a daughter. I love and adore both of them. In addition I work full time at a job that I enjoy, even when it has me stressed out.
I hope you enjoy seeing the world through my camera lens as I explore areas near and far (when I actually can afford to go somewhere) of my home.
2012 update: I have since moved on to also posting some of my pictures on Flickr and more recently started a Facebook page. This goes along with the web site I create on Zenfolio last June (2011). Have a site to host my pictures came about after assisting my friend Jolene on a photo shoot for a roller derby team.
