So, I went on a long hiatus from my attempts to blog. I have found that in my list of things to do in my life, this often falls short. I also came to realize that when my daughter’s swim season is in full swing, my photography gets pushed to side. With a recent break in swim, I’ve found interest in picking up my camera again.
I have made a few trips up to the Northern State Hospital grounds, which is only about a 5 minute drive from me. It really is a great place to grab some pictures. When I woke up this morning, I noticed the sun was out. I decided to venture up there and see what I could find. I’ve also been wanting to start trying out the whole HDR thing. I have a tripod that I keep in my car, but never actually take it with me when go on my photo walks.
So, off I went with my camera and tripod. After fumbling with it, I found out it actually is a pretty decent tripod. Especially since it was something I picked up at a garage sale for a good price. Anyways.. I tried out the HDR thing and captured a couple of pictures. I only took three pictures at different exposures. I think next time I will try doing 4 or 5 to check out the difference. I obviously need more practice with it. However for the first time doing it, I’m happy with what I got. This one was my favorite out the three I did.
Going forward I’m going to set a goal for myself to just actually post something once a week on here. I’m trying to post photos on my Flickr account a little more. Figure best to just take small steps.
Beautiful photo! I am a WordPress photographer too, so I love seeing posts like this. Great job, and keep it up!
