Butterfly   Leave a comment

Last weekend my hubby and I were painting the dresser I bought at a garage sale a few weeks prior.  It was $5 and sturdy.  However it had been painted red.  Wasn’t exactly what we were going for in our bedroom.  So I purchased a couple cans of black spray paint.  We made it through all the drawers and realized we needed more paint.  So off Josh went to the local hardware store to pick up more.

That left me alone with my camera in the yard.  So, I quickly turned my attention to my bird feeders.  The American Goldfinches were being very friendly, so I was happily snapping pictures of them.  I then glanced movement coming from my hummingbird feeder.  When I looked, it wasn’t what I expected to see there.  Instead of a little hummingbird, I found this beautiful yellow and black butterfly.  After doing some quick research, I found out this is a Western Tiger Swallowtail.  S/he stuck around for a little while to enjoy the snack from the feeder before moving on.  Now if I could only attract a hummingbird…
